The Valor prepare to face St. Francis, a fellow 9-2 team known for its distinct style and competitive tradition. Evangel’s resilience has been on full display this season, bouncing back from a 53-0 early-season loss and overcoming in-game injuries to key players. Stars like Eric Williams, breaking career touchdown and single-game scoring records, and veteran quarterback Ryan Beard, the “coach on the field,” are central to the team’s success as they chase a national title.
Beyond football, Evangel’s athletic programs are thriving across the board. Men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and cross country teams have all achieved historic successes and tournament qualifications, reflecting a department-wide commitment to excellence. And the excitement doesn’t stop there, fundraising is underway for new on-campus football facilities, designed to host national competitions and elevate the student-athlete experience.
As Kepler reflects on surpassing Evangel’s all-time wins record, he emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and honoring the legacy of coaches who came before him. With five more playoff victories standing between the Valor and the NAIA National Championship in Fort Worth, TX, one thing is clear: this team, this coach, and this community are all in it together.
