Road Warriors: Bears’ Comeback & Future Stars
It was a night that showed both sides of college basketball. The Lady Bears ran into a tough matchup against Louisiana Tech, struggling to find rhythm on offense and never quite flipping the momentum. Defensive breakdowns and an uncharacteristic off night from Keamyn Bekemeier made it one of those games that forces reflection as the season grinds on.

On the men’s side, the Missouri State Bears delivered the kind of road performance that can define a stretch of a season. Falling behind 17–4 early at New Mexico State, the Bears didn’t blink. Instead, they adjusted, settled in, and slowly turned the game on its head. Keith Palek III poured in 26, Big Mike owned the paint with 21, and Kobi Williams added key scoring as Missouri State clawed all the way back to steal a crucial road win.
Depth proved to be a difference-maker, too. Brook Kidd continues to grow into his role, while Antwan Burnett knocked down timely shots that swung momentum. The Bears also benefited from defensive decisions by New Mexico State that allowed Big Mike to operate one-on-one, a matchup he consistently won. The result: a hard-earned victory that capped a four-game road swing at 2–2 and pushed Missouri State to a 6–3 mark heading back home.
