College of the Ozarks: Building a Winning Culture, One Hard-Working Kid at a Time
There’s something different about the way the College of the Ozarks does athletics, and the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats are proving it this season. Sitting at 19–9 overall and winners of six of their last seven, the Lady Bobcats are surging into the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 4 seed with confidence building at exactly the right time.
Catch the conversation with Coach Becky Mullis here:
What makes the run even more impressive? This is a young roster with just one returning starter. Early-season growing pains could have derailed momentum, but instead they became the foundation for growth. Now, this group is playing its best basketball when it matters most, peaking with belief, chemistry, and edge.
At the center of it all is Head Coach Becky Mullis and a “no excuses” mindset rooted in hard work. Drawing from her blue-collar upbringing, Mullis has built a program that mirrors the college’s values: discipline, humility, and opportunity. Recruiting focuses on local, small-town athletes who embrace development and team-first culture, a natural fit for a school known for its debt-free education model and commitment to shaping leaders beyond the court.
With sights set on a deep postseason run, and aspirations of reaching the NAIA Sweet 16, the Lady Bobcats aren’t just chasing wins. They’re building something sustainable.
