Drury Baseball Is Raking And Building Something Bigger

|By Casey Grant

The Drury Panthers are off to an impressive 8-2 start after a sweep at the Drury Invitational, and this feels different. Hitting .373 as a team, the Panthers aren’t waiting around to find their rhythm, they’re jumping on teams early and extending leads with a veteran lineup that doesn’t give away at-bats.

🎧 Catch the complete conversation with Coach Nasby here:

When Coach Scott Nasby joined The Starting Lineup, he emphasized that this surge is about more than offense. It’s about culture. A family-first philosophy, strong academic recruits, and player development rooted in the legacy built by former coach Stratton. That foundation is showing up in confident performances, including a statement win over UCM that gave this group a real boost at Meador Park.

Standouts like Jackson Crider represent the blueprint: recruited for more than just talent, developed with intention, and now producing in big moments. With rivalry games against Missouri Southern and a matchup looming against nationally ranked Augustana, the Panthers are stepping into meaningful baseball early in the season.

There’s much more in the full interview, from recruiting philosophy to pitching strategy to one legendary helicopter story that still lives in program lore. ⚾

NHL Predictions: Expert Picks on Tuesday, March 3

March 3, 2026 2:22 pm · vsin.com
AI Expert Analysis: In tonight's NHL matchups, the Columbus Blue Jackets host the Nashville Predators, with odds favoring Columbus at -135 after their recent 5-4 overtime victory against the Rangers. The Predators, struggling with just one win in their last five games, face a tough challenge as they are 2-7 in back-to-back situations this season, while the Blue Jackets excel at 7-3 in similar scenarios. Notably, Nashville has been limited to two goals or fewer in seven of their last nine back-to-backs, making the under on the total of 6.5 a compelling option. Player props are also intriguing; Kirill Marchenko has found success against Nashville, scoring four goals in six matchups, while Adam Fantilli is on a scoring streak. In the later game, the Ottawa Senators are seeing line movement as underdogs against the Edmonton Oilers, who have struggled defensively, allowing four or more goals in eight of their last ten games. With the Oilers' games consistently exceeding seven total goals, betting on the over 6.5 could be wise. Additionally, the Oilers' power-play unit remains a threat, making a wager on them to score a power-play goal appealing. Overall, the trends indicate a favorable night for home teams and high-scoring games, suggesting strategic bets on the Blue Jackets and Senators could yield positive returns.

DraftKings Releases 2026 NFL Season Win Totals: What You Need To Know

February 18, 2026 8:05 pm · vsin.com
AI Expert Analysis: The release of the 2026 NFL season win totals by DraftKings has sparked early interest among bettors, with notable odds movements and expert sentiment providing actionable insights. Teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills are set at 10.5 wins, reflecting a strong belief in their continued competitiveness, while the Arizona Cardinals' low total of 4.5 indicates significant rebuilding ahead. The Atlanta Falcons' over/under of 6.5, with heavy juice on the over (-140), suggests expert confidence in their potential improvement, possibly influenced by anticipated roster changes. Conversely, the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers, both at 10.5, have varying odds that reflect differing expectations; the Patriots' over is priced at +125, hinting at skepticism about their ability to contend. Contextually, the upcoming NFL Draft and free agency will heavily influence these totals, making it crucial for bettors to monitor roster developments closely. Betting on win totals now could yield value if one can accurately predict team trajectories, especially as financial maneuvers and player acquisitions unfold. The current lines serve as a barometer of team strength, and savvy bettors should leverage this early information while considering the volatility of the offseason.

March 3, 2026 6:53 pm · vsin.com
AI Expert Analysis: The recent VSiN 2026 MLB Futures Draft showcased a blend of expert insights and strategic betting opportunities, particularly in player awards and team futures. Notably, the early selections emphasized the NL Cy Young market, with Paul Skenes at +225 leading the charge, indicating strong sentiment around his potential. This trend continued as experts like Steve Phillips and Adam Burke targeted high-value MVP candidates, with Juan Soto at +750 and Jose Ramirez at +1500, suggesting a belief in their ability to outperform expectations. The movement in odds reflects a cautious optimism for teams like the Tigers and Rangers, with Burke's picks on the Tigers for both the AL Pennant and AL Central indicating a potential undervaluation in the market. Additionally, the selections of win totals, such as the Royals over 81.5 wins and the Cardinals under 69.5, highlight a divergence in expert opinions that could influence betting lines as the season approaches. Overall, the draft revealed actionable insights into player performance and team dynamics, with odds reflecting both established narratives and emerging trends that savvy bettors should leverage for informed wagering decisions.

Steve Makinen’s NBA Betting Trends and Best Bets for Tuesday, March 3

March 3, 2026 11:54 am · vsin.com
AI Expert Analysis: For NBA betting on March 3, 2026, key trends and insights suggest a strategic approach to wagering. Notably, teams coming off an upset win against intra-conference opponents struggle against non-conference foes, with a dismal 43.6% ATS record. This trend highlights the potential to fade Chicago (+10.5) against Oklahoma City, who have been dominant in One Day Rest scenarios, boasting a remarkable 93-19 SU record. Conversely, New York's strong performance against Toronto (11-0 SU, 9-1-1 ATS this season) makes them a solid play at -2.5. The under is worth considering in the Phoenix-Sacramento matchup (o/u 223.5), as home teams in One Day Rest situations have shown a strong tendency to go under against teams with long rest periods. Cleveland's poor record against winning teams (14-17 SU, 9-22 ATS) makes them a candidate to fade against Detroit, who have been effective as slight favorites, hitting the under 83.3% of the time in similar scenarios. Lastly, Charlotte's struggles in the 2 Days Rest scenario (11-37 SU) suggest they are vulnerable against Dallas, making Dallas (+12.5) an attractive option. Overall, these trends and contextual factors provide a solid foundation for informed betting decisions.
