Missouri State Athletics: Fueling Success with Giving Day
Missouri State University is gearing up for its annual Day of Giving, set for March 24-25, and this year’s event promises to be bigger and more interactive than ever. Over a fast-paced 36-hour online campaign, alumni, fans, and supporters can track real-time progress, participate in donation challenges, and take advantage of matching opportunities. While the day benefits the entire university, athletic programs play a major role, with every gift helping enhance the student-athlete experience, fund talent recruitment, and support teams navigating the increased demands of competing in Conference USA.
Director of Athletic Development, Paige Grisham, shared that athletic donor engagement has doubled in just the past two years, fueled in part by the football team’s bowl appearance and rising national visibility. These contributions are critical not just for high-profile sports, but for non-revenue programs as well, which face higher travel and competition costs. Grisham emphasizes that every donation directly impacts the success of student-athletes, from providing better facilities and resources to strengthening the recruitment of top talent across all sports.

Beyond the online campaign, Missouri State is creating opportunities for fans and alumni to connect in person. Upcoming gatherings include an alumni event at the Conference USA Basketball Tournament in Huntsville, Alabama, and a special mixer during the fall football game in Miami. These events, paired with the Giving Day campaign, showcase the strong community behind Missouri State Athletics and highlight how collective support keeps the programs competitive and vibrant year after year.
