Rogersville Girls Hoops Ready for Big District Showdown
The Logan-Rogersville girls basketball team is gearing up for one of the most anticipated games of the postseason as they face Strafford in the Class 4 District Championship. Both programs are known for playing fast, aggressive basketball, setting the stage for what many believe could feel more like a state championship preview than a district title game.

Head Coach Cory Watts brings a veteran group into the matchup, with eight of the top scorers returning from last season’s impressive 26–6 campaign. The roster is stacked with talent, including sharpshooter Eden Kibby, a Crowder College commit, and Hailey Buckman, an All-Stater headed to Southeast Missouri State who is closing in on 2,200 career points. The Lady Wildcats also rely on the inside presence of Reagan Rasmussen, steady point guard Miley McPherson, and defensive standout Sidney Holland.
Watts’ coaching philosophy blends organization, accountability, and high-tempo play, creating a system built to push the pace offensively while staying disciplined on defense. Rogersville thrives in transition and from beyond the arc but also has the ability to slow the game down when the moment calls for it. Defensively, the focus is simple but effective: keep opponents in front and challenge every shot near the rim.
Beyond this single game, Rogersville’s success reflects the growth of the entire Rogersville athletic program, fueled by strong leadership, high expectations, and improved facilities. With a deep, experienced roster and championship-level talent, the Lady Wildcats believe this district title game could be just the start of a serious Final Four run.
