Willard Surge: Championships, Coaching Moves & What’s Next
There’s something building at Willard High School, and it’s not slowing down. Athletic Director Katie Pritchard is steering a program coming off one of its most successful stretches yet, highlighted by a historic runner-up finish in girls wrestling and multiple state champions. That momentum is now shifting into the next phase, with key coaching hires in girls basketball and baseball, and one more major piece still waiting in the wings.

The success isn’t isolated to one season or sport. Baseball is stacking wins, track and field is rewriting school records, and girls soccer continues to push forward as one of the fastest-growing programs in the region. It highlights a department-wide standard that’s starting to feel consistent, as Willard leans into both performance and development across every level.
There’s also a bigger structural shift coming. With conference realignment on the horizon and a move to a full 10-team Central Ozark Conference schedule in 2027, Willard is positioning itself for a more competitive, demanding future. It’s a change that will test depth, consistency, and long-term planning, all areas this program is clearly investing in.
And that investment shows up beyond the scoreboard. From turfing multiple fields to upgrading gyms and adding video boards, Willard is doubling down on facilities and experience. Backed by a community that continues to show up and support, the vision is clear: this isn’t just a strong run, it’s the foundation of something built to last.
