Drury Golf’s Rising Star: Gaige Lewis Chasing Wins, Growth & a Pro Future
Drury University’s Gaige Lewis is quickly becoming one of the most compelling names in college golf. He joins the show fresh off a GLVC Championship win and an at-large NCAA Regional bid, riding a stretch of form that includes a school-record round and some of the best golf of his career.
Full interview is live, hear how he’s building momentum and what’s fueling his breakout season:
Lewis opens up about the grind behind it all, including the demanding championship course that forced him to lean heavily on strategy and preparation. A big part of his recent surge comes down to what he calls “pressure practice”, reps designed to simulate real competition and close the gap between the range and tournament play.
His journey isn’t a traditional one either. Originally a baseball player, Lewis made the switch to golf in high school after burnout and a growing passion for the game took over. Now, he’s not only thriving at the Division II level, but also offering insight into how experience, more than raw talent alone, separates D1 and D2 competition in his eyes.
Looking ahead, the focus is clear: finish strong at Drury, chase a professional golf career, and keep stacking competitive reps this summer through MGA events, the Southern Am, and even the U.S. Am. With family ties to the game and big-course experience already under his belt, Lewis is leaning into a future built on discipline, patience, and belief in his own trajectory.
