Disorganized Governance & Spacing Realities

We couldn’t help but dive deeper into the structure of horse racing. Patrick layout out a stark reality: the traditional Triple Crown structure is a thing of the past. Modern trainers simply don’t breed or train horses to run on a two-week turnaround anymore. When we floated the idea of moving the sport to a “Golf Major” style structure—incorporating massive regional events like the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn—Patrick pointed out the harsh truth. Horse racing operates like the mafia. With no central commissioner and competing regional syndicates pulling all the strings, systemic change is incredibly hard to pull off.
